The population is ageing rapidly, particularly in Europe and Japan, and the world is becoming more digitized. Seniors in particular have been found to face difficulties learning and using digitized media. To overcome problems with accessibility, digital information systems should be engineered with reference to the knowledge and capabilities of seniors. Furthermore, new media should be aesthetically pleasing and entertaining to use for all ages!

Gerontechnology, often used interchangeably with Gerotechnology, is the study of technology and aging for ensuring an optimal technological environment of all aging and old people up to a high age (Herman Bouma). My gerontechnological research focuses on the enhancement & satisfaction of seniors' work & leisure.
